BD PhaSeal™ Protector P21, for Vial Pressure Equalization, Sterile, 20 mm

BD PhaSeal™ Protector P21, for Vial Pressure Equalization, Sterile, 20 mm

PhaSeal is a system for the safe handling of hazardous drugs. As a clinically proven closed-system drug transfer device (CSTD), it has been proven to prevent hazardous drug exposure from preparation and administration to waste disposal. The Protector P21 is a pressure equalization device, permanently attached to the vial used in the preparation of drugs from either powder or liquid form. The Protector provides closed pressure equalization through the sealed expansion chamber and dry connections via the double membrane technique. This ensures that there is neither overpressure nor vacuum when air or fluid is injected into or aspirated from the vial. When attached to a vial, Protector 21 has an equalizing capacity of 20 mL of air.
  • The only CSTD with extensive third party evidence proving:
  • Prevention of drug exposure
  • Reduction of surface contamination
  • Elimination of human uptake
  • Cutting drug waste to enable savings
  • Protects the microbial state of vial contents*:
  • May reduce impact of drug shortages
  • Helps fund investments in healthcare worker safety
  • May enable better healthcare outcomes
  • Setting the standard in hazardous drug safe handling:
  • Validated by 3rd party studies
  • Utilized by top NCCN and NCI facilities
  • Leading the way:
  • First to obtain ONB clearance
  • First with clearance to prevent microbial ingress
  • First with indications aligned to the NIOSH definition of a CSTD *Data on file at BD
